Fort Fairfield – Prenzlauer Berg (2013)

  • Krautrock
  • Electronic
  • Progressive
  • Art rock
  • Synth-rock
  • Techno pop

  • Experimental electronica
  • Avant-electronica
  • Ambient techno
  • Art music
  • Experimental techno
  • Tech-electro
  • Experimental electro

Suudaksid sa kujutleda kedagi kritiseerimast Autechre`i tüüpe mingite "kahtlaste" saundide kasutamise pärast? Üleüldiselt võib seesugust muusikat pidada tehnoks, natuke kitsamas tähenduses tech-electro`ks; tehno seostub esmajoones meile tantsuklubide ja klubimuusikaga, aga Battistetti muusika sobiks väga hästi ka (pigem isegi rohkem) kaasaegse muusika lavadele ja kunstibiennaalidele. NYYD-muusika, on ju? Väänab kuulaja mõtteid, mängib trikke meie mõtetega. Üllitis anatakse välja 3. mail Acustronica all.

Daniel Barbiero, Cristiano Bocci – Now/Here (2021)

  • Improvised music
  • Drone
  • Avant-garde
  • Chamber music
  • Post-classical
  • Experimentalism
  • Electronic music
  • Electro-acoustic
  • Art music
  • Ambient

Kogusumma on kordades suurem liidetavate summast. Klassikajärgsel muusikal saab olla vaid see tähendus, mille artist ise on sellele andnud. Suurepärase albumi on üllitanud Acustronica.

OOAME – Milanese-Nwas (2018)

  • Folktronica
  • Glitch-folk
  • Post-folk
  • Epic
  • Electronic
  • Avant-folk

Comment: by listening to this 11-notch release of having come out from an imprint, Acustronica this is something of which hard core is centred on heavy sampling of an acoustic guitar and its soft core is based on permanent and at the same volatile chord and format variations. More profoundly, it can be assumed all the samples are manipulated through an effect control panel by pitching and lowering, accelerating and decelerating, saturating and amplifying glitched-out minutiae. At the same time it is not a fusty technological adventure because of preserving an easy emotional impact within it. The general impression of it is atmospheric and spiritually ennobling despite convulsive and warped shapeshifting downwards. It reminds of psychedelic folk troubadours on a guitar only without any electronic interference. Indeed, it is an enchanting listening experience provided by Giorgio Sancristoforo.

Nunun – Inner (2017)

  • Post-rock
  • Indietronica
  • Experimental rock
  • Ambient rock
  • Improvised music

Comment: after a span of five years and the album Seven Mirrors the duo Nunun (Cesare Discepoli – guitar, effects, and Massimo Discepoli – drums) are back again with a 32-minute issue called Inner. Partly it is improvised music, partly it seems to be a determined outing wherein one can enjoy spacey landscapes where shaky sounds of the drums and drum kits are mixed up with volatile synthesised strings and over-driven guitar chords. Of course, it is just a main line on the issue but one can discover more templates which used to describe the release. Murky moods are variegated with more silver-tinged lines, slowed-down compositions are to be replaced by more fast-paced numbers. The issue is a part of the discography of Acustronica. A solid issue.

Art Sonic – Roadside Sketches (2012)

  • Folktronica
  • Folk indie
  • Americana
  • Alt-folk
  • Indie folk
  • Ambient
  • Art folk
  • Musique concrète
  • Tex-Mex

Comment: this 13-notch issue is created by a Canadian multi-instrumentalist, Richard Lisaj whose music sounds like a palette of sketches recorded by driving across highways in southern part of the USA. Indeed, it was recorded while he was travelling from Canada to the US states (Utah, Colorado, New Mexico). By listening to it one can discern Tex-Mex details within it. Musically it is based on pastel guitar jangling, some harmonica whiffs and exquisite electronic progressions and roundabouts which together are grandiloquent and rustic at the same time. Frequently these moods are imbued with the chirping of birds and some other concrete sounds, at times it might even remind of some tracks of David Bowie's albums from his Berlin period (for instance, at Garden of the Gods). However, the music is Americana and it is very welcome to meet it with unexpected dodges within the mix. In a word, it is a fabulous listening experience being released under Acustronica, Bandcamp, and Jamendo.

Hoodie Woody Freaky - Story Of The Early Days (2011)

  • Hip-hop
  • Indietronica
  • Alternative pop
  • Indie pop
  • DIY
  • Electronic pop

Comment: by listening to this short, 4-track issue by an Indonesian trio with a funny name this album could have been produced as one 11-track issue, for instance. Indeed, it could have been just one possibility. More profoundly, the issue draws on light-hearted guitar twangs, blithesome singing and beatbox induced rhythm sections. However, all the aforesaid elements are built up in the way to be angular while being juxtaposed against each other. The result is simple and straightforwardly understandable in its simplicity. Let`s say it is just entertaining. Because of that the outing represents one of the pop clichés with regard to the Far East and South Asia pop music scenes. In the universal sense, the issue is consistent and solid due to developing one sonic topic profoundly and thoroughly. Get it now.

Misdea – Acetilene (2013)

  • Post-rock
  • Ambient pop
  • Experimental rock
  • Electronic
  • Soundscape
  • Conceptual
  • Leftfield
  • Crossover

Comment: Acetilene is an intriguing journey across thought-awakening landscapes where one could perceive disparate tendencies within less pop oriented music. At times it chimes like ambient pop, at times like experimental/post-rock, at times like a picturesque or abstract sonic ornament for something. At times it rings like a polyphonic composition with different layers being showcased at the same time. At times the soundscape is saturated with noisy debris thereby making up enough contrast to unite different elements with one another. The purpose of it is to create a hyper-realist experience. This "something" is thought to be a dedication to the Italian mercury mine Abbadia San Salvatore. Despite its cutting-edge approach in technology of creating the sound the result is enchantingly dreamlike. Acetilene is produced by the Berlin residing artist Emiliano Baiocchi.

Melinda Ligeti – Belonging (2015)

/Alternative pop, Singer-songwriter, Jazz. Doo wop, Mood music, Easy listening/

Comment: Melinda Ligeti`s 17-track issue could be considered both a branch of jazz music and mode of contemporary alternative pop. I mean artsy pop music, of course. Sonically it is light-hearted and quite gravitation free due to soaring vowel effects and singing mixing mode and contemplative string plucked chords thereby reminding of the doo wop tradition coming out of the 60s. Furthermore, the sentiment of bossa nova is not being far away from it. At times some keyboard sounds are added to bring forth either a more lively touch or more deeply thoughtful sensations within the blend. In any cases, Ligeti is adept to move the listener`s emotions with her fairly sensual vocal turns and lurking jazz compositions behind it. All the instruments are played by her and dedicated to her sons. In a nutshell, it is a potent retro futurist pop album.

Cristiano Bocci - Instruments (2013)

9.4

/Avant-garde, Free jazz, Ambient, Chamber music, Noise, Drone, Experimentalism, Electro-acoustic, Abstract/

Comment: this set of 11 pieces comprises an interesting array of experiments with sounds extending from electro-acoustic drum, cello and accordion driven endeavors and disquieted free jazz-alike dashes to more abstract, clear-cut noise tissues and sublime, slightly fading drones and glacial and even ghastly electronica (or are they rough blues rock propulsions actually?) sections. And those noise infiltrated signals of the steam ship are really epic in one track. In a word, the whole is very tight and intense worth to be listened and discovered.

Tristeza Orange - Monochrome EP (2010)

/Film noir, Experimental rock, Avant-rock, No Wave, Psychedelic, Experimentalism, Alternative dance/

Comment: here are represented 4 solid explorations being quite characteristic experimental notches on their own. The issue kicks off with a droning film noir-charged soundscape, the second track The Stars, They Burn My Eyes, My Hands resembles of the interplay between Michael Karoli`s screeching guitar and Irmin Schmidt`s synth layers while proceeding CAN`s Tago Mago album. Two last, short tracks do constitue slightly more dance-appealed rock/No Wave notches- funky bass gears and bouncing electronic bits are begirded by different kinds of minutiae (there can be used adjectives like "droning", "shouting", "soothing", "joyous").

Nheap - Clouds Under The Table (2011)

/Post-rock, Organic electronica, Experimental rock, Art rock, Instrumental rock, Fusion, Jazz/

Comment: I can only agree with the statement that creative music can also be warm, for instance, if to regard Massimo Discepoli`s 8-piece brand new one. More profoundly, you can mention that it is a lofty trudge alongside the shores of vibraphone-drenched and emphasized live drum-driven post-rock, and electric piano-dominated intimate jazz (and even imbued with fusion) progressions having lots of similarities with such groups as The Dylan Group, and Tortoise, and on the other side you can detect for the influence by Steve Reich`s Drumming, for instance. Moreover, Discepoli`s project does have a strong retrodelic touch within itself.

diecidicembre - diecidicembre (2011)

9.0

/Guitar ambient, Sound art, Microtonal, Avant-garde, New age, Experimentalism, Ambient, Laptop-folk, Drone, Avant-electronica/

Comment: By a 38-year-old resident from Bari, Italy, offering 5 long-running guitar experiments in the vein of sound art. It embarks on by leaping out from the silence and conjuring up many tones, half-tones and wraith-like imaginations. You can detect some unusual elements within this totally experimental area - for instance, flamenco-tinged guitar fingerpickings next to the pitched experiments or new age-loaded synth sounds and progressive rock-hued developments in some tracks. However, all is beautiful on it.
